Job Title: Legal Executive
Location: Frimley – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £38,000+ (dependent on skills and experience)

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Hold a law degree and preferably other certifications relevant to the area of specialism – i.e. company secretarial
  • Requires knowledge of the necessary procedures within their legal specialism and in multiple jurisdictions – particularly those key to BAE Systems (i.e. European)
  • Requires some knowledge of specific database packages suitable to enable effective use of such systems
  • Expected to have legal experience working in a corporate environment
  • Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of the BAE Systems business, its policies and values is desirable
  • Understands how the area collectively works together in order to meet their objectives
Responsibilities
  • Support a number of solicitors, specialising in the substantive aspects of different law specialisms, initiating and processing due diligence requests, updating legal data bases and providing administrative support, handling the procedural aspects of the specialism and ensuring that the internal workflows followed are completed to the deadlines and standards imposed by the various jurisdictions within which we operate
  • Managing Company Secretarial requirements for global Group Companies, including dealing with formalities to effect director changes, powers of attorney, local filing requirements and maintaining records for Group Companies
  • Ensure the necessary databases are kept up to date
  • Operate workflows in which a degree of liaison with external legal firms or governmental offices are required
  • Develop strong relationships with external law firms both in the UK and in the key jurisdictions we operate
  • Monitor necessary actions to ensure that relevant deadlines that are required by regulation to be met are not missed, either by performing the actions independently or by liaising with others in the team
  • Provide support in the review and negotiation of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • Researching on various areas and preparing briefs and supporting special projects as needed including research, organisation and project management
  • Contribute to internal workflows and processes, and implementing changes and improvements where agreed
