JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a part-time position requiring 16 hours per week, with flexibility for hybrid or remote working to suit your schedule and lifestyle. Ideal for a retired lawyer wishing to keep a hand in the profession or someone looking to move away from case work or returning to the profession after some time out.
You will conduct systematic audits of legal files across various departments to ensure we meet, and exceed regulatory standards, professional obligations, and internal best practices.
You will act as a critical safeguard for the firm, identifying legal, procedural, and risk-based issues, supporting internal training, and helping to ensure our services are consistently excellent and legally robust.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct scheduled and ad hoc audits of both live and archived files across multiple practice areas.
  • Review for legal accuracy, procedural compliance, client care standards, and effective risk management.
  • Ensure adherence to SRA regulations, Lexcel and ISO9001 standards, AML requirements, and internal policies.
  • Provide constructive feedback to case workers and contribute to continuous improvement across the firm.
  • Collaborate with department heads to help shape internal training, risk controls, and best practices.
