DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

This position reports directly to the VP, Category, Science and Commercial, will be the deputy to the VP, Category, Science and Commercial on Commercial Legal Matters, will be the Legal Lead for one of the Commercial clusters (regions) and will lead the team of lawyers and legal professionals supporting the other clusters (regions) within Perrigo. The Legal Head of Commercial plays a crucial role that blends legal expertise with strategic vision. This role will be responsible for providing legal oversight and strategic guidance for one of the Commercial clusters and leadership, as well as setting up the Commercial Legal team for success by implementing best practice ways of working. The role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in supporting sales operations on a regional or global level, has strong leadership skills, the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, and to lead a team on a global basis.
The ideal candidate will possess deep legal expertise in supporting sales operations on a regional or global level within the self-care industry, including expertise in anti-trust, commercial contracts, promotional practices and other legal issues arising from activating global category strategies at a regional or market level.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



    • These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a JD from an accredited law school and Bar admission; combined with a minimum of 12+ years of professional legal experience in-house or in a law firm environment.

    • Comprehensive knowledge of legal, regulatory & commercial processes, coupled with strong strategic thinking.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to analyze business issues and understand implications of legal decisions, providing pragmatic and proportionate advice.
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, including well-developed interpersonal skills and strong written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage and develop teams, and multiple projects.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage senior executive relations and ability to collaborate and build relations with stakeholders across functional and organization lines, and enterprise-wide program development and management skills.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to translate legal advice into actionable business strategies.
    • Experience advising sales and commercial teams on path to market, including on commercial contracts, anti-trust, promotional practices and other legal issues arising from activating global category strategies at a regional or market level.
    • Experience managing other individuals preferred.
    Responsibilities
    • Lead legal support for one of the Commercial clusters (regions), advising on the commercial path to market and activation of global category strategies on a market or regional level, including:
    • pricing and commercial practices and strategies
    • local marketing strategies
    • contract manufacturing
    • anti-trust
    • eCommerce
    • collaborating with Category Legal, IP and Global Contracting lawyers
    • other strategic legal support and guidance to the business as required
    • providing training to commercial teams on key legal topics
    • Leading other lawyers and legal professionals supporting the Commercial clusters (regions) within Perrigo
    • Setting up the Commercial Legal team for success by implementing best practice ways of working
