Legal Intern . The Legal Intern at EACOP will provide valuable support to the legal team in various aspects of the organization's legal affairs. This role is designed to offer practical experience to law students or recent graduates interested in energy and infrastructure law. . Responsibilities: Legal Research: Conduct legal research on various issues related to energy law, environmental regulations, and infrastructure development. Summarize and present findings to the legal team. Contract Review and Drafting: Assist in the review and drafting of contracts, agreements, and legal documents. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization. Assist in ensuring that EACOP's operations are in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Case Management: Support in managing legal cases, including document preparation, filing, and communication with external legal entities. Meeting Coordination: Assist in coordinating legal meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and organizing relevant documentation. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for legal matters. Work closely with external legal counsel, as required. Policy and Procedure Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of legal policies and procedures. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including organizing files, maintaining databases, and managing correspondence. Qualifications and Required Experience Currently pursuing a degree, a law degree program from recognized University Must provide Introduction letter from university and copy of student I.D. Must provide a partial transcript / testimonial showing current academic scores with a minimum of an upper-second degree. Must be available full-time for the duration of the internship period. Must write and submit an internship application letter. . Context and environment The Legal Intern will be based in the EACOP Office. The Legal Intern will report to the Legal Manager EACOP. He/she will interact with Project teams and Construction Contractor teams on a continuous basis with the guidance of the Legal Officers. He/She is responsible for ensuring and maintaining good relationships between the EACOP and all its stakeholders and the local community.
