Ongoing Full-Time employment in a vibrant and supportive team Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available Remuneration of $98,160 - $134,458 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading About the role We’re looking for a Legal Officer Grade 2/3 who is passionate about delivering high‑quality legal services and advice to clients, management and staff, helping them navigate complex matters with assurance. Guided by legislation, policy, guidelines and practice standards, your expertise will directly support the delivery of exceptional services across the department and contribute to positive outcomes for the students we serve. Strong analytical capability, enabling you to break down complex legal issues and provide clear, practical advice. Strong communication skills ensuring stakeholder and clients’ needs and perspectives are understood and addressed. Commitment to ongoing professional development, ensuring your legal knowledge remains current and aligned with best practice. Key knowledge and experience Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Current knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of the following areas of law: commercial, civil, employment, criminal, discrimination and general litigation. Essential requirements of the role Legal qualifications with a current NSW legal practising certificate. Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment or ability to apply for clearance as this is a child-related role. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
