About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Operations Analyst to join our growing team in London.
As a Legal Operations Analyst you will: Work as part of the Balfour Beatty Legal function supporting the team to deliver a proactive service to the business by optimising departmental efficiency and quality through the application of legal operations methodologies.
What you’ll be doing
The Legal Operations Analyst will support the Legal Team in optimising efficiency and quality by managing technology solutions, streamlining processes and providing operational insights.
The following personal qualities/experience are desirable:
- Experience in legal operations, paralegal, or legal/lawyer roles, or strong IT background with legal technology expertise.
- Proficiency in legal technology, including ELM software, document management, eDiscovery tools, Microsoft365 and more.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Ability to articulate and prove ROI of various legal ops / legal technology initiative
Responsibilities:
- Management of Legal Technologies: Oversee systems such as Legal Tracker (our ELM/legal operations platform), contract lifecycle management, document management systems, collaboration/productivity tools, and preservation/eDiscovery solutions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Interpret data, analyse results, and provide ongoing reports. Leverage databases, data collection systems, and analytics to optimize departmental efficiency and quality.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement new process improvement opportunities.
- Budget and Spend Management: Assist with budgeting, accruals, and financial reporting, utilizing advanced functionalities of ELM/legal operations software.
- Supplier and Service Management: assist with management of supplier relationships, and other third-party legal service providers.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to AGC Corporate, Infrastructure and Deputy Company Secretary, including invoice management and meeting coordination.
- Project Management: Lead or support legal technology projects, from initiation through to successful implementation.
