Description

We are seeking to hire a Legal Research Specialist to join our Content Development Team at the Toronto office. This presents a great opportunity for a legal professional eager to apply their expertise in a technology-driven setting, ideal for someone looking to transition from traditional practice or shift into a role where law, technology, and innovation converge.

MEET THE TEAM

The Content team undertakes a lot of project work on new content initiatives. This role is responsible for legal research regarding new projects and will be a key player in ensuring the successful delivery of these projects to our clients. This is the perfect position for someone who wants to use their legal background but is not looking for a traditional legal career, or for someone who would like a career change from a traditional legal career. We are looking for candidates who not only have legal knowledge and experience, but who are also able to adapt to working in a software company environment and are comfortable using technology. We are looking for people who are driven by finding better ways of doing things.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting legal research across multiple areas of law and Canadian provinces to identify how LEAP can best support practitioners.
  • Communicating with clients and obtaining feedback, using this knowledge to guide the Forms & Development team to bring recommendations to life.
  • Overseeing matter types in different areas of law and advising on how to improve matter types for clients.
  • Overseeing LEAP’s growing library of automated court and government forms, advising on how these forms should populate with data pulled directly from client files.
  • Using AI tools to draft prompt templates for legal documents such as affidavits and letters, helping streamline workflows for our users.
  • Contributing to new Content initiatives through legal research and project support, playing a key role in ensuring successful project delivery to our clients.
