JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Conveyancing Assistant / Legal Secretary / Paralegal to provide efficient administrative and secretarial support to our Conveyancing team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Conveyancing Assistant / Legal Secretary / Paralegal within Conveyancing
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures in
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management systems
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legal secretarial qualification (e.g. CILEx Level 2/3 Certificate in Legal Secretarial Skills)
  • Familiarity with case management software
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and fee earners
  • Prepare, format, and amend legal documents and correspondence
  • Manage diaries, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and post, ensuring timely and professional communication with clients and third parties
  • Maintain and organise physical and electronic files in line with firm procedures and compliance requirements
  • Assist with billing, file opening, and closing processes
  • Transcribe audio/digital dictation accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, confidentiality, and firm policies at all times
  • Provide general administrative support including photocopying, scanning, and filing
