The Legal Secretary Intern provides administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the legal team. Starting Hourly Range: $22.88 This is an in-person position located in Fairbanks, Alaska What you will do Draft correspondence and legal documents as assigned. Assist with scheduling which includes calendar maintenance Maintains physical and electronic files, and contacts. Track deadlines and follow up on required documentation. Receives and screens telephone calls in a manner consistent with office policy and attorney preference. Interact on a daily basis with departments within the utility to facilitate highest possible legal support Take detailed notes during meetings. Assists with overflow work and other special projects as assigned Updates case information, scans and organizes legal files Learn, adopt, and apply safety programs Conditions of Employment Must pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities. Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Required Associate's Degree in Business, Paralegal Studies, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted on a 2:1 ratio (2 years of experience = 1 year of education). Preferred 1 year of experience in a professional office or other environment where applicant has demonstrated the ability to work independently to complete administrative tasks with limited oversight.
