PRIVATE CLIENT LEGAL SECRETARY / ASSISTANT

Location: Bath
Salary: £23,000-£27,500
A well-established law firm is seeking a Legal Secretary/Assistant to join their Private Client department.
This role involves assisting Private Client Fee Earners in their day-to-day work by providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Secretary/Assistant, ideally within Private Client.
  • Strong secretarial and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Fast, accurate typing skills, ideally using digital audio systems.
  • Familiarity with case management systems (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with a friendly, professional attitude.
  • IT literate – proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and legal software.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing full secretarial support, including using a digital dictation system to produce correspondence and legal documentation related to Wills, Trusts, Probate, Powers of Attorney, and Estate Administration.
  • Preparing and formatting legal documents, including drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and estate accounts.
  • Performing PA duties, such as diary management and coordinating appointments.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive client files, both digital and physical.
  • Liaising with clients, financial institutions, and third parties in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Assisting with general team administration, including handling calls, arranging meetings, and welcoming clients.
  • Supporting the team with compliance procedures and document filing.
