CONVEYANCING AND / OR PRIVATE CLIENT LEGAL SECRETARY / ASSISTANT

Location: Oxford
Salary: £23,000–£29,000
A respected and long-established law firm in Norwich is seeking a Legal Secretary/Assistant to join their team, supporting both the Conveyancing and / or Private Client departments.
This varied role offers a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and experienced Legal Secretary to support Fee Earners across two key areas of law.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Secretary/Assistant, ideally in Conveyancing and/or Private Client.
  • Excellent typing and administrative skills, ideally with digital audio transcription experience.
  • Familiarity with legal case management systems (preferred but not essential).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT literacy including Word, Excel, Outlook, and legal software.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing full secretarial support using a digital dictation system to produce legal correspondence and documents.
  • Preparing and formatting legal paperwork including contracts, Wills, LPAs, estate accounts, and conveyancing documents.
  • Managing diaries, booking appointments, and acting as a PA to Fee Earners.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, financial institutions, and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Handling client files (both physical and digital) with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Answering phone calls, welcoming clients, and assisting with general office administration.
  • Ensuring all compliance procedures and internal filing requirements are met.
