THE CANDIDATE

We are looking for an experienced legal secretary who is professional, proactive and motivated. Suitable candidates will have:

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary or administrative assistant, ideally within a property law practice;
  • Proficiency with legal practice management and precedent systems (experience in precedent IT automation programs, such as SmarterDrafter, will be highly regarded);
  • Excellent document management skills including preparing, formatting and editing legal documents and correspondence with strong attention to detail;
  • Professional communication skills, including liaising confidently with clients, lawyers and internal and external parties;
  • Proactive, reliable, with initiative to anticipate team needs and following matters through to completion; and
  • This role will suit someone who enjoys being a key part of a established team and is looking to develop their career in property law.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join our Property team. As an experienced Legal Secretary, you will provide legal administrative support to the Head of Property and the Property team in delivering excellent client service and contribute to process and operational improvement within this high-performing team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering professional and responsive client service, including liaising directly with clients and handling client queries;
  • Preparing correspondence and legal documents, including proofreading and formatting;
  • Implementing legal practice management and precedent improvements within the property team;
  • Assisting in billing client and managing the Property team’s financial processes; and
  • Legal administration including file management and administration task associated with property work.
