The Legal Services Specialist plays a key role in ensuring individuals seeking legal help receive the right level of service, support, or referral. This position is responsible for triage of individuals and assessment of eligibility, understanding the individual’s goals, and determining next steps — whether that’s booking into a summary legal advice clinic, connecting to in-house specialized legal programs, or referring to trusted community partners.
This is a regular full-time position working 35 hours per week. Working as part of an integrated legal services team, this role combines empathy and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. Successful candidates are skilled in triage, client assessment, system navigation, and can handle sensitive topics with professionalism, compassion, and cultural awareness. Specializing in community resources and government systems, the Legal Services Specialist guides individuals through complex systems and provides individuals with accurate information and referrals. While understanding CLG partnerships as well as the boundaries of law and advocacy, the Legal Services Specialist works in a collaborative environment to enhance the quality of service to all individuals accessing support from CLG.
