Description:

Thompson Coburn, a large full-service law firm with offices in eight (8) cities across the U.S., is in search of a full-time exempt Legal Talent Acquisition Manager to join one of its offices in St. Louis, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., or Birmingham. Under the leadership of the Chief Legal Talent Officer (CLTO), this position manages recruiting operations for partner-level attorneys and implements the Firm’s marketing and social media strategy for the recruitment of all attorney types firmwide. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with, facilitates meetings for, and presents information to the CLTO and Practice Group Leaders as needed.
  • Manages and administers the recruitment of lateral partner attorneys to include: collaborating with CLTO and hiring partners to determine hiring needs and strategy for sourcing candidates; reviewing candidate resumes; managing candidate interview schedules; engaging search firms; corresponding with candidates throughout the recruitment and hiring process; ensuring required documentation is obtained; and overseeing candidate diligence process with internal stakeholders.
  • Manages the maintenance of data in the Firm’s legal recruiting software program in support of the partner recruiting process to include appropriate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports.
  • Provides indirect oversight of department administrative support staff by providing direction to and working with administrative staff on partner recruitment and related responsibilities.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry best practices impacting compliance, policy, and the recruitment and retention of attorneys by establishing contacts in the legal industry (e.g., professional associations and educational groups, and professional development efforts).
  • Collaborates with other members of the Legal Recruiting team and CLTO on special projects.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; J.D. preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of recruiting experience and knowledge of attorney recruiting processes are preferred.
  • Prior experience utilizing viGlobal recruiting platform preferred.
  • Prior supervisory/management experience preferred.

Compensation:
For applicants that meet the experience requirements for the role and are physically based in Chicago, IL, the expected salary range is $122,000 - $150,000 annually upon commencement of employment. Starting salary will be determined on an individualized basis with consideration to prior experience and additional qualifications. This is in addition to a comprehensive benefit package offered by the Firm.
