About the Legal Technology Team: You’ll be joining a small, tight-knit team of reporters and editors operating out of different offices who provide legal tech coverage for ALM’s various publications. The team functions as a part of a fast-moving, proactive and collaborative newsroom of 100+ journalists who span the globe. We strive to be at the forefront of legal technology reporting, covering innovation as it’s happening, not after it’s already established. We’re looking for someone who’s always looking ahead for the next big story.
What You’ll Do: The legal technology editor will be responsible for consistently writing daily and enterprise articles as well as managing a team of two reporters, which includes ensuring a steady stream of content, approving pitches, assigning articles and managing an editorial schedule. The editor will also spearhead multimedia projects by working closely with other editors and EICs across ALM’s global newsroom.
The legal technology editor will work with our legal technology editor-in-chief to ensure Law.com is publishing the news, data and analysis needed for legal technologists, ALSPs, law firms, law departments and more to stay ahead of the tech trends and better understand legal technologies’ opportunities and risks.
This role should aim to be a thought leader in new technologies, such as generative AI, and their real world applications, helping guide the industry on how to leverage technology in meaningful and safe ways.
The person in this role will develop a strong understanding of legal technology’s impact on the business of law, legal practice and legal education. They will develop a strong understanding of legal technology companies and alternative legal service providers as well as the technologists, legal operators and innovation specialists within law firms, legal departments, the judiciary and law schools.
