POSITION SUMMARY

Our Brussels office offers Blue Book trainees and LLM students a possibility to gain experience and training from an international law firm through our trainee program. By working closely with senior associates and partners, you will be involved in advising clients on a broad range of EU competition law questions, antitrust and merger control investigations conducted by the European Commission, litigation before the EU Courts, as well as other EU regulatory issues (State aid, trade, Digital Markets Act, Digital Service Act, etc.). Our trainee program runs for twelve months starting each year in March and September. We are currently hiring for September 2025. Our trainees work on a full-time basis and many of them are offered to continue working with us as associates.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates interested in a position as Legal Trainee:

  • Need to have completed their academic qualifications including modules on EU or Competition (Antitrust) law, and relevant legal experience including a European institution.
  • Completion of an LL.M. at a foreign university is an asset.
  • Need to have a European Bar qualification, or will qualify within a maximum of one year period.
  • At least one year of experience (Traineeship at the European Commission - Traineeship at an international law firm among main competitors. Junior Associate level at a national law firm)
  • Need to be outgoing and resilient, with strong communication and social skills and a high degree of commitment to the job.
  • A fluent level in English is required. Knowledge of another language is desirable
  • Must have very good analytical skills.
  • Will show diligence, attention to detail, professionalism, eagerness to learn, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
  • Should have very good computer skills.
