Description
SAIC is hiring a Legislative Advisor to join our team and support the Congressional requirements of the Department of War (DoW) Office of Strategic Capital (OSC). The position requires proven experience interacting with direct Congressional staff and excellent written and oral communication skills. This position is on-site in Washington, DC. Situational telework may be approved in limited situations. Key Responsibilities: Develop and write Congressional actions, including legislative proposals, Congressional reports and language, and briefings. Maintain effective working relationships with senior Department of War leadership. Analyze Congressional bills and reports to prepare detailed responses to legislative actions or requests for information (RFIs). Monitor, develop, and deliver organizational reports and briefings for DoW Senior Leadership and members of Congress. Maintain comprehensive records for Government Accountability Office (GAO), Inspector General (IG), and Congressional requests. Work with OSW(Legislative Affairs) to lead OSC-wide coordination of Congressional engagements on strategic issues within the OSC portfolio. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of direct experience working with Congressional staff. Required Clearance: Active SECRET U.S. citizenship Required Skills: Experience developing and writing Congressional actions including legislative proposals, Congressional reports and language, and Congressional briefings. Experience interacting directly with Congressional staff. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Advanced skills with MS Office tools, particularly Word, Excel, and Teams.
Responsibilities
