POSITION SUMMARY:

The Kansas Legislative Research Department (KLRD) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legislative Fellow. This 12-month program is designed for individuals interested in a career in legislative affairs and public policy. As part of the nonpartisan KLRD staff, the Fellow will develop skills in analytical writing, public presentations, and time management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., Public Administration, Business Administration, PoliticalScience, Healthcare Policy, Economics, or Law).
  • No prior policy experience required.

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
The hiring process screens the criminal history of those applicants who are presented and accept a conditional offer of employment. A criminal history records check will include diversions and/or expunged records.
