SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate IV in Lifestyle or Activities or similar discipline (Desirable).

  • Willingness to understand and develop skills in the activities of our elderly residents, not just for social purposes, but to support daily movement, circulation and cognitive health.
  • Previous experience working with and supporting Indigenous Australians.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Leisure and Lifestyle (Activities) Officer to join our Hetti Perkins Home for the Aged facility located in Alice Springs, NT. This busy and rewarding role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis at an hourly rate of $32.50 - $35.01 / hour gross base (dependent on skills and experience).
The role if Leisure and Lifestyle officer will see you coordinating and delivering activities within our facility to motivate and stimulate the minds and bodies of our residents. Under the direction of the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator, you will ensure that activities executed are reflective of both our residents wishes and cultural preferences. They will be customized to the residents’ abilities and ensure that it provides a fun and stimulating experience.
This opportunity will suit a committed person who has care and compassion and enjoys interacting with our residents. As the ideal candidate, you will have previous experience in a similar role where you have coordinated and interacted with the elderly or vulnerable. You will be a person who is patient and caring and understands the importance of these activities to the livelihood of people in our care.
