Range of Pay: Group 5 - $1,659.70 to $1,955.10 bi-weekly (subject to review) - Range in effect April 1, 2025

Main Function: Responsible for the coordination, planning, promotion, and delivery of City of Greater Sudbury (CGS) wide leisure programs.
Characteristic Duties: Under the direction of the Manager of Recreation Services and the day-to-day direction of a Recreation Co-ordinator.
1. Select, train, supervise and discipline staff. Ensure that all staff understand and comply with CGS policies.
2. Assist with planning, promotion and delivery of leisure programs, special events and sport tournaments through direct and indirect contact and liaison with community organizations and schools.
3. Make recommendations for continuous improvement of leisure programs and training.
4. Plan and make the necessary arrangements for the in-house training courses.
5. Maintain a safe program site and follow all safety and accident prevention regulations.
6. Ensure that sufficient supplies and equipment are available.
7. Coordinate the maintenance, cleanliness, and security at all program locations. Report all damages, accidents, and incidents to the appropriate staff.
8. Coordinate and maintain accurate attendance records and program reports.
9. Prepare weekly payroll of all program staff and submit same for approval.
10. Conduct job performance appraisals, salary reviews and discipline in accordance with the respective collective bargaining agreement.
11. Evaluate and manage the job performance of employees, as required. Act as management’s representative in the grievance procedure in accordance with the respective collective bargaining agreement.
12. Provide assistance, support, and leadership to program staff. Attend and/or schedule meetings, as required.
13. Assist in the planning, implementing and evaluation of Leaders in Training (LIT) and Counsellor in Training (CIT) programs and supervise participants.
14. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
15. Perform other related duties as required.

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience including overseeing recreational programming.
