POSITION SUMMARY

The Lending Compliance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that all school partnership submissions meet regulatory standards and internal policy requirements. This individual will evaluate new and existing school partnerships, monitor compliance with private post-secondary lending regulations, and contribute to the development of strategic relationships with educational institutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field (Master’s or JD preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in compliance, financial services, or education-related lending.
  • Strong understanding of private post-secondary education regulations and lending practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with CRM systems and compliance management tools is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Compliance Evaluation & Monitoring


    • Review and assess school partnership submissions for regulatory compliance and risk.

    • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and institutional regulations governing private post-secondary lending.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lending laws and compliance requirements, including Title IV and state-specific regulations.
    • Partnership Development


      • Collaborate with the Business Development and Legal teams to vet potential school partners.

      • Assist in the creation and refinement of partnership agreements and onboarding processes.
      • Provide compliance guidance during the development of new lending programs and initiatives.
      • Reporting & Documentation


        • Prepare detailed compliance reports and maintain accurate records of evaluations and decisions.

        • Support internal audits and respond to regulatory inquiries as needed.
        • Develop and maintain compliance checklists, templates, and training materials.
        • Stakeholder Engagement


          • Serve as a liaison between the compliance department and partner schools.

          • Educate school partners on lending regulations and best practices.
          • Participate in industry forums and stay informed on emerging trends in educational finance.
