Job Overview The Lending Specialist plays a critical role in supporting high-volume Mortgage Brokers to deliver seamless, accurate, and timely outcomes for clients. This role ensures loan applications progress efficiently from submission through to formal approval, by coordinating documentation, managing lender requirements, and resolving outstanding information requests. Duties and Responsibilities roker & Client Support Prepare and package credit submissions in line with lender policy and aggregator requirements. Ensure accurate collection and verification of client documentation (income, assets, liabilities, living expenses). Liaise with brokers, clients, and lenders to progress applications through to formal approval. Monitor application progress daily, ensuring files remain on track. Address lender “missing information” requests promptly to avoid delays. Provide clear and timely updates to brokers and clients on application progress. Operational Excellence Prioritise workloads to support brokers managing high volumes of applications simultaneously. Ensure all applications comply with responsible lending, regulatory, and compliance obligations. Maintain meticulous records in the CRM/aggregator system (BrokerEngine, ApplyOnline). Collaborate with settlement officers and post-approval teams to ensure smooth transitions to settlement. Stakeholder Management Build strong working relationships with brokers, lender BDMs, credit assessors, and internal support teams. Proactively resolve issues and escalate complex matters where required. Contribute to a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Strong understanding of Australian mortgage credit policies and responsible lending requirements. Demonstrated experience supporting Mortgage Brokers or Credit Analysts in high-volume environments. Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Client-first mindset with commitment to service excellence. Proficiency in loan application platforms (ApplyOnline, BrokerEngine, Mercury, Podium, etc.) and CRM systems. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in lending support, credit, or mortgage operations within the Australian market. Strong knowledge of end-to-end residential mortgage processes. Familiarity with aggregator and lender systems.
