Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The position of Letter Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of channel letters or cabinets, light installation, and mounting of channel letters. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Follow work order sheets and other necessary documents for product specification. 2. Gather materials needed to start the letter fabrication process based on work order instructions. 3. Utilize measurement instruments to measure and cut the necessary dimensions needed to create channel letters. 4. Operate bending equipment, automatic stapler, and other machinery that assists in the letter formation process as well as assemble. 5. Assist in lifting positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during fabrication. 6. Perform spot and tack welding as needed to align and hold components together. 7. Utilize hand and power tools such as saws, hammers, and screwdrivers to modify and finish off formation. 8. Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and schematics 9. Inspect the channel letter back produced by the router 10. Weld and letter lock returns to channel letter backs 11. Operate trim cap machine 12. Glue trim cap to plastic 13. Weld aluminum sheet 14. Electrical wiring – 12-volt circuits and switch 15. Install lights/wiring in channel letters 16. Install power supplies and wiring to the raceway 17. Test lighting installed in channel letters 18. Ability to understand and make letter drill/mount patterns 19. Maintain work area and machinery/tools in good working condition 20. Operation of the following tools: metal shear, metal break, radial saws, ironworker, welder, band saw, jig saw, drills, grinders as well as other miscellaneous hand tools 21. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed. 22. Follow the rules and regulations related to the safety of all employees working for the Company Job Requirements Education: Required training in vocational school, related on-the-job experience, or a high school diploma or GED. Work Experience: Sign industry experience strongly preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sheet metal/steel fabrication industry. Experience with both aluminum and stainless steel. Be a quick learner and enjoy working on multiple different projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of channel letters and cabinets. This includes operating bending equipment, performing welding, and installing electrical wiring and lighting.
