JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Welfare Apprentice to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of animals under our care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion in animal care, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to perform physical work in all weathers as required. You will play a vital role in promoting animal welfare and enrichment to our client’s dogs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in animal care or welfare isn‘t essential But is beneficial.
  • Basic customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting/physical work as required when handling animals.
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to improving the lives of animals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising them as needed.
  • Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to managerial staff promptly.
  • Engage with the our clients to provide information their dog’s behaviour.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within animal housing areas to ensure a safe environment for both animals and staff.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement enrichment activities for animals in care.
