SUMMARY

Level 2 Plastics Technician/Shift Supervisor at Tumblers and Trays Incorporated will play a crucial role in overseeing production operations and ensuring efficiency within our manufacturing processes. Located in Oakville, this position is vital to maintaining our standards of quality and productivity, directly contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional products.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma (post secondary education in plastics technology an asset).
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience as machine operator up to Level 2 plastics technician.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted safety procedures, quality control standards, and injection molding equipment.
  • Previous experience with Shibaura (Toshiba), Engel, and Arburg machines an asset.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in CNC lathe and programmable logic controllers.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills for production metrics analysis.
  • Experience with quality inspection processes is preferred.
  • Experience with food and medical grade production an asset.
  • Forklift certification is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations on the production floor to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Set up, adjustment and light duty maintenance of injection molding tooling used in manufacturing
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, enduring efficient production processes and adherence to customers’ product specifications.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards
  • Coordinate shift schedules and manage workforce allocation effectively.
  • Monitor production metrics and implement improvements for efficiency.
  • Resolve work issues and recommend improvements to productivity and quality.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices in manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections to maintain product integrity.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment is operational.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and/or streamline processes while maintaining quality standards.
  • Address any operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare documentation and other reports as required.
