OVERVIEW

Mobius Partners is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Level 3 System Engineer to join our Managed Services team. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with a strong background in managed IT services, cloud computing, and data center operations. This role is crucial for delivering top-tier support and implementing complex solutions for our diverse client base. You will serve as the primary escalation point for our Level 1 and 2 teams, lead project implementations, and act as a senior technical advisor to our clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a managed services provider (MSP) environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V, or other VMware alternatives.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration and migration.
  • Experience with data center operations and colocation services, power and cooling management, and space management.
  • Experience with Fortinet firewalls and switches, including configuration, policy management, and troubleshooting for both data center core and small business networks.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewall management.
  • Certifications Preferred:
  • Microsoft Certified:
  • AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals; AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
  • MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals; MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator

Responsibilities
  • Advanced Troubleshooting and Support: Serve as the final escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert-level support for a wide range of systems, including on-premises, managed cloud, and colocation environments.
  • System and Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain critical infrastructure components. This includes server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), networking (WAN/LAN, routing, switching, firewalls), and storage area networks (SANs).
  • Cloud and Hosted Services: Manage and support client environments in public and private clouds, particularly Microsoft 365 and Azure. This includes migration, administration, security, and optimization.
  • Colocation Services: Oversee the management of client hardware within our data center, including rack and cable management, power and cooling, and physical security. Provide “remote” services and coordinate hardware maintenance and upgrades with onsite personnel.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and execute complex technical projects, such as large-scale migrations, system upgrades, and new solution deployments. This involves planning, documentation, and coordination with clients and internal teams.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Ensure client systems comply with relevant industry standards and best practices.
  • Automation and Optimization: Identify and implement automation opportunities using scripting languages like PowerShell to streamline tasks and improve efficiency. Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure system stability and scalability.
  • Mentorship and Documentation: Mentor junior team members, guiding them on complex tasks and troubleshooting techniques. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Client Communication: Act as a key technical liaison for clients, communicating complex technical concepts clearly and professionally. Provide strategic advice and identify opportunities to improve their IT infrastructure.
