LEVEL 7 ASSESSOR

Job description
The Supported Learning Department is seeking a passionate and experienced Level 7 Assessor (Teacher) to support adult learners with diverse needs. You’ll deliver and assess high-quality, inclusive teaching tailored to adult learners working towards qualifications in areas such as personal development, employability, or independent living. This role requires a flexible, learner-centred approach and a commitment to promoting progression and independence. You’ll hold a relevant Level 7 teaching qualification and Assessor award (e.g. TAQA/CAVA), with experience in adult or supported learning. SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A teaching qualification at Level 5 or above. A specialist Dyslexia/SpLD qualification at level 5 or above, or the ability to achieve this within 12 months of recruitment
  • Also, at least one of the following;
  • a postgraduate course at or equal to Level 7, including at least 100 hours relating to specialist assessments of learners with Dyslexia/SpLD#, or Exam Access Arrangements
  • A current SpLD Practising Certificate, as awarded by BDA, the Dyslexia Guild, or Patoss and listed on the sASC website
  • Current and valid industry specialism in SpLD and EAA Assessment
  • Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation)
  • Minimum Level 7 occupational qualification
  • English and maths minimum level 2 Grade C or Grade 4 and above
  • Significant Experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning and Exam Access
  • Arrangement assessment
  • Proven track record of high-quality inclusive teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism
  • Working as a team
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Meet EAA caseload targets and CPD delivery plans
  • Accurate and timely reports and records
  • Positive contribution to team cohesion, consistency of support offer across the different campuses and the future planning processes of the team

including the theoretical basis underlying psychometric tests, the concepts of validity and reliability, standard deviations and the normal curve, raw scores, standard scores, quotients, percentiles and age equivalent scores; the concept of statistically significant discrepancies between scores, standard error of discrepancy between scores: standard error of measurement and confidence levels.
