KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· To succeed at this job, you must have strong and varied technical skills (Windows, Suse, AIX, WAN/LAN) with the ability to prioritize tasks. You must be comfortable in understanding and explaining complex workflows and problems to customers and internal stakeholders (developers, various levels of management, and other technical leads). Desire and ability to learn about biometric software applications.
· You must have advanced to expert level experience in Windows/Suse/AIX and VMWare administration skills. Intermediate networking skills and basic knowledge of Oracle databases.
· It would be preferred if you have basic to intermediate-level system monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix), and experience with SQL. Additionally, industry certifications such as are looked upon favorably. Experience working as an application developer is looked upon favorably.
· We would like someone to join our team who demonstrates a self-starter mindset who is not afraid to accept challenges and takes ownership of them.
· We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient and can work can manage the stress of multiple priorities, escalate issues with clear information and is an excellent problem solver.
· A strong background in System Administration and Architecture
· It would be preferred if you have industry certifications such as: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MSCE), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or SuSE Certified Engineer (SCE)
· You must be fluent in English and a U.S. citizen

· You must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Sciences, and 5+ years’ experience as a System Administrator

Responsibilities

·· Provide technical skills and facilitate the monitoring and remediation of a technology blended environment
· Responsible for maintaining and repairing the hardware in the primary and disaster recovery data centers
· Coordinate and manage the Lead Engineer to remediate software defects and application issues
· Meet with the customer to provide status of the environment and potential solutions to open issues.
· Document solutions for future troubleshooting and cross training
· Monitor the performance of the Automatic Fingerprint Identification System, a 24/7/365 system, which includes monitoring logs and file systems; respond to after-hours calls for system issues
· Independently troubleshoot system issues and establish call bridges with appropriate personnel to ensure the system is restored to proper operating condition and all efforts are documented from start to closure
· Utilize the ticket tracking system to track and resolve the issue; identify and escalate priority issues in a ticket report
· Stay current with system information, changes, and updates
· Handle and resolve customer complaints
