About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated LGV Sweeper Driver to help maintain the cleanliness and safety of our streets, highways, and other designated areas. This role involves driving and operating a large goods vehicle (LGV) road sweeper and supporting our waste services team as needed across the borough.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a committed and customer-focused individual with:

  • Valid LGV driving licence (Category C or equivalent)
  • Experience operating road sweepers or LGV vehicles preferred.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a courteous attitude
Responsibilities
  • Operate LGV sweepers to cleanse assigned areas under the supervision of the Street Cleansing Supervisor.
  • Safely load and unload waste materials in accordance with legal and safety requirements.
  • Accurately complete required paperwork and digital records (e.g., job sheets, tachographs).
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any faults or safety hazards promptly.
  • Drive responsibly, ensuring full compliance with road safety laws, health and safety regulations, and council policies.
  • Keep the sweeper and associated equipment clean, tidy, and in good working order.
  • Operate refuse collection vehicles as required to support service demands.
  • Maintain a courteous and respectful manner when interacting with the public.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties in line with your role, skills, and experience.
