The Liaison Engineer position will be based at the Locomotive Final Assembly plant in Muncie, IN. The engineer will work directly with Manufacturing to identify and resolve engineering design issues during the production process. This position focuses primarily on Product Design and Product Application. Additionally, the engineer will participate in design reviews and ensure design for manufacturability concepts have been utilized and match capabilities of the production line. The engineer will coordinate current and future locomotive model engineering designs with manufacturing and maintain daily communication between Manufacturing and Design. The position will drive cycle time reduction, increased capacity, and cost out benefits by improving the manufacturability of the designs provided by Locomotive Design Engineering.
