Description
The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library Library Assistant II Reporting to the Scholarly Communications Librarian, the appointee will be assigned to Research & Learning Support in CUHK Library. Duties include (a) providing support for activities related to the Institutional Research Information System (IRIS) implementation; (b) inputting, verifying, and supplementing publication information for research output records in IRIS; (c) assisting in the creation of user education materials in different multimedia formats; (d) posting and updating a project webpage; (e) providing logistical support for user training; and (f) performing other tasks as assigned. Shift duties in the evenings, at weekends or on holidays at library helpdesks are required. Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B, or at least Grade C in Syllabus A); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English):Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) proficiency in computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Chinese word-processing skills; (iv) proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese; (v) attentiveness to details; (vi) self-motivation, strong interpersonal and communication skills; and (vii) a positive attitude and good team spirit. Having knowledge of APIs, programming languages, e.g. Python, will be advantageous.
