The Bodleian Education Library provides key services to the Department of Education and the wider University, through the provision of books and papers (both in print and online) and by supporting readers in developing key skills, for example in finding scholarly papers for their study and research.
Your main responsibilities will be welcoming readers and other visitors to the Library, responding to enquiries and helping students make the most of the Library (for example, by assisting them in finding print and online library materials) and in the use of library services and facilities.
In addition, you will work with library materials, for example shelving books accurately and processing new books, journals and serials. You will also work with reading lists, checking stock against reading lists to ensure that we have sufficient copies of key works, scanning chapters and articles and using Oxford’s reading list management system, ORLO, to make readings lists available online.
This is a permanent, part-time post, working 15 hours per week. The post holder will be based in the Education Library on Norham Gardens, Oxford. This post is not suitable for remote working
The role involves lifting, carrying and transporting books safely.
