Department/Unit: Library Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $46,947.00 - $65,726.00 This position works under the direct supervision of the Manager of Library Technology and User Services. The Library Tech (AV) provides audio-visual support to medical college students, faculty, and staff at the Schaffer Library of Health Sciences and other Albany Medical College locations as needed. Primary responsibilities include classroom and event AV support, lecture capture operations, media conversion, troubleshooting AV equipment, and assisting in the planning and implementation of new AV technologies. LIBRARY TECH (AV) SCHAFFER LIBRARY OF HEALTH SCIENCES POSITION SUMMARY: This position works under the direct supervision of the Manager of Library Technology and User Services. The Library Tech (AV) provides audio-visual support to medical college students, faculty, and staff at the Schaffer Library of Health Sciences and other Albany Medical College locations as needed. Primary responsibilities include classroom and event AV support, lecture capture operations, media conversion, troubleshooting AV equipment, and assisting in the planning and implementation of new AV technologies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide audio-visual support for college faculty, students, and staff. Set up and configure classrooms, lecture halls, and AV-equipped rooms at the medical college and library. Prepare classrooms for daily activities using the Lecture Hall Daily Checklist. Assist instructors and presenters with equipment and software operation. Deliver and set up portable AV and computer equipment as needed. Provide in-room support and setup for meetings in the college. Perform routine inventory and daily maintenance of AV equipment using established checklists. Monitor and evaluate AV equipment for repair or replacement, escalating issues when appropriate. Operate and troubleshoot lecture capture systems including Mediasite and desktop recording software. Support instructors with prerecording lectures in the library. Operate video cameras, record and edit video. Provide AV support for library media-equipped study rooms. Maintain logs of AV equipment maintenance, repair, and replacements. Assist with planning and installation of new AV equipment. Develop instructional and training materials for audio-visual and instructional technologies. EDUCATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree or equivalent work experience. EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of experience providing face-to-face audio-visual or instructional technology support in an academic or similar environment. PROFESSIONAL SKILLS: Ability to: Perform the job according to conduct defined by AMC’s Code of Conduct and Employee Manual, use good judgment when performing the functions of the job or when interacting with others, accept direction, work cooperatively with others, work independently and as part of a team, operate AV and video conference equipment, cameras, use editing software, transfer and manage various media formats, and develop instructional or promotional materials.
