About the Role Nottingham City Libraries are seeking to recruit a Library Customer Advisor – Saturday Only who will be based at Nottingham Central Library. The library is spread over three floors and includes feature book walls, an immersive story telling room, free access to computers, specialist resources, a learning lab, meeting rooms, exhibition space and a café. The library also houses an extensive Local Studies collection and a dedicated Business & IP Centre.  We’re looking for people with excellent customer service skills who love helping others and who would welcome the chance to inspire people to read, learn and enjoy culture. As a Library Customer Service Advisor, no two days would be the same. You may be assisting with a children’s event/activity, helping someone to fill in a job application or to choose their perfect book to read. Our libraries offer a wide range of services and you will make sure that everyone’s experience with us is a positive one. You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, energetic and proactive in looking for ways to develop and improve library services and outcomes for customers. You will also be committed to supporting the delivery of arts, cultural and learning services delivered through libraries. About You The ideal candidate will have: * Able to deliver high level customer service to a range of citizens * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * An excellent team player * Able to organise, multitask and prioritise * An ability to use information technology as applied in the workplace -          This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role. -          A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post. Responsibilities
The role involves providing excellent customer service across the three-floor library, assisting patrons with various needs such as children's events, job application help, or book selection. The advisor must ensure a positive experience for everyone while proactively seeking ways to develop and improve library services and support cultural and learning delivery.
