Waimakariri Libraries are looking for a highly organised and community-minded Library Customer Facing Assistant to work alongside our team to help shape the future of libraries in our diverse and rapidly growing hapori | community.
In this role, you’ll work with our team to design and deliver inclusive, high-quality programmes and events that foster lifelong learning, creativity, connection, and discovery. The range of events you will be working with the team on include our school holiday programmes, late night events, programming including our preschool programming, and working closely with our team on our new outreach services.
Another aspect of your role will be working closely with our hapori daily to deliver responsive, welcoming front-line service. This includes offering supportive solutions to tech issues, giving guidance around books and welcoming our hapori to our libraries.
To thrive in this role, you will ideally have experience running events, have outstanding customer services skills and can work late nights and weekends. You will also bring energy, empathy, and communication and organisational skills, A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, inclusion, and a passion for helping others learn and grow are essential.
