ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you someone who thrives in a busy, customer-focused environment? Do you enjoy delivering exceptional service, whether in retail, hospitality, or another fast-paced setting? If so, the Library Experience Assistant position at Manchester Metropolitan University could be the perfect role for you!
In this role, you will be a key part of our Library Experience Team, delivering high-quality customer service both in-person and online. You’ll play an active part in ensuring that our library is a welcoming, accessible, and supportive space for all users.

We are recruiting to three positions as part of this campaign:

  • Two roles are offered on a fixed-term contract (FTC) basis for 12 months
  • One role is offered as a permanent position

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Responding promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and referring or escalating as needed.
  • Collecting and acting upon customer feedback to continuously improve our service.
  • Supporting the delivery of circulation services, including shelving and managing library resources.
  • Actively roving the library’s study areas, ensuring customers receive the help they need.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth communication and service delivery, especially during evenings and weekends.
