We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Library: Major Duites and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Supervising and coordinating operations of the Circulation section of the Library; Assisting in staff supervision and training, and policy review and implementation; Handling library user enquires and liaising with internal and external parties; Assisting in the management of collection, stack, overall physical space and inventory; Supervising and coordinating the resources sharing activities that collaborate with local and overseas partners; Assisting in general administrative duties including office management, event organization, and budgeting; Assisting in library automation, collection maintenance and other special projects; Performing counter and shift duties during weekdays, weekends and public holidays; and Performing any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian or his/her nominee(s). Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A recognised university degree, preferably in library and information science or related disciplines; Relevant post-qualification work experience. Candidates with experience in providing Interlibrary Loans Services to other institutions, particularly through the use of the Rapido library resource sharing system in an academic library setting will be advantageous; Experience in and knowledge of an Integrated Library Management System, preferably the Alma and Primo systems; Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua); Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and organizational skills; and Good analytical/logical sense, self-motivated and with a strong sense of responsibility. Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Library Officer. Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
