What You'll Be Doing: As a Library Officer, you will lead a team of staff and volunteers to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service. Your responsibilities will include: Managing day-to-day operations of the library. Planning and delivering a wide range of events (e.g. author events, class visits). Supporting customers with digital services (e.g. eBooks, passport applications). Building partnerships with local organisations. Monitoring performance and ensuring service excellence. This is a temporary job share until 30th August 2026, you will be appointed to a library base, but there will be an expectation that you will work at other libraries as required. Hours of work are a set working pattern over two weeks, please see the rota attachment at the bottom of the advert. These hours cannot be changed. A great communicator with strong problem-solving skills. Comfortable working with a diverse range of people, including volunteers and community partners. Interview Process: The interview process will be in two parts: Part 1 Information Session: Friday 20th March – Garstang Library at 2pm All shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an information session. This will last about 1 hour and will involve: A meeting with a manager A tour of the library and explanation of duties Part 2 Interview Date: Friday 27th March – Garstang Library All applicants attending the information sessions will be invited for interview.
