Overview
IU Health | Library Services Consultant
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 weekend virtual support occasionally needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Authoritative knowledge of knowledge-based systems and services, library platforms, innovative technology and the ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Very thorough knowledge of Library policies, procedures and services and the ability to contribute to their creation and revision.
  • Knowledge of major programs at the organization and the ability to recognize and understand user needs; requires a proactive awareness of new programs in order to assemble a base collection of supportive materials and programs.
  • Ability to perform document delivery and interlibrary loan.

The Methodist Medical Library is seeking a Library Services Consultant to support healthcare providers, staff, patients, and families by providing literature searches, managing digital resources, and assisting with reference questions and technology. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred), 3-5 years of experience, and strong customer service skills. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive searches using electronic and evidence-based resources, assisting with reference and technology needs, maintaining electronic access and digital resources, and participating in collection development and resource analysis.
