Job Details Job Location: Dallas Campus - Dallas, TX 75204 Position Type: Part Time Hourly Non Exempt Salary Range: $14.36 - $14.36 Hourly Job Category: On Campus Job Summary: The Library Technician for End Processing is responsible for processing new books and AV items for the shelves as well as repairing old books as described in items one and two below. Morning and afternoon hours are possible, but maintaining a predictable schedule is required. Duties/Responsibilities: Complete end-processing of books and other library items: type and attach spine labels and book pockets; attach barcode, security tags and property stamps; attach book covers. Edit LHRs (Local Holding Records) in WorldShare Management Services, the Library’s current database system, to reflect new barcodes or locations Conduct minor book repair to damaged books and periodicals; assist with preservation of older materials Perform other library duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to type 30 wpm. Ability to use the library catalog. Ability to use a typewriter. Familiarity with English. Required Skills/Abilities: Must be able to communicate well with people Must have strong attention to detail Must have good manual dexterity Must be able to work during summer and winter breaks Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements Must be able to reach top and bottom bookshelves. [Step stools are available.] Must be able to push a light book cart. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
