Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and organized License Project Manager to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. (preferred location) or Huntsville, AL. The License Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the effective management, compliance, and utilization of software licenses, contracts, and intellectual property rights critical to mission success. You will collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to maintain accurate records, negotiate license agreements, and ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations. Contract Overview: Golden Dome is a national-level, whole-of-nation initiative in which you will play a critical role in advancing next-generation homeland defense capabilities. If you are seeking a fast-paced position focused on developing innovative software for the Space-Based Interceptor mission, this opportunity is designed for you. Key Responsibilities: License Management and Compliance: Track, manage, and ensure compliance with software licenses, subscriptions, and agreements across program assets. Regularly review licenses for expiration, renewal requirements, and adherence to DoD and corporate policies. Enforce licensing usage restrictions and ensure compliance with vendor agreements. Contract Negotiation and Vendor Coordination: Support negotiations with software vendors to secure optimal licensing terms, costs, and scalability. Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams to validate license entitlements and resolve potential discrepancies. Optimization of Assets: Conduct regular usage audits and analyses to identify underutilized or overutilized licenses, ensuring efficient allocation and cost control. Recommend strategies for license optimization, including consolidations, term adjustments, and scalable options for program needs. Data Management and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of license agreements, contracts, and usage metrics in centralized repositories. Provide regular reports to program leadership on the status, costs, and utilization of software licenses and subscriptions. Tool and Process Implementation: Implement and manage software asset management (SAM) tools to streamline tracking, usage monitoring, and reporting of licensing data. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for license acquisition, renewal, termination, and usage. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with IT, procurement, legal, and finance teams to align licensing strategies with program objectives. Maintain open communication with stakeholders to address licensing questions, risks, and opportunities. Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Mitigate risks related to software usage and intellectual property through proactive license management and monitoring. Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and standards related to software assets. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). 15+ years of experience in software license management, asset tracking, or contract management, preferably within DoD or highly regulated industries. Familiarity with software asset management tools and frameworks (e.g., Flexera, Snow Software, ServiceNow). Strong understanding of licensing agreements, subscription models, and intellectual property rights. Familiarity with DoD acquisition and contracting processes, including FAR/DFARS regulations. Skills Required: Exceptional organizational and attention-to-detail skills for managing complex licensing portfolios. Strong analytical skills to assess licensing utilization trends and recommend optimization strategies. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with vendors and stakeholders. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic program environment.
