THE OPPORTUNITY:
Vickery Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed 309A Electrician / Controls Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to work on diverse projects, contribute to cutting-edge solutions, and grow within our organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must possess a valid 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician License issued by the Ontario College of Trades (or successor body).
· Proven experience as an Electrician / Controls Technician in an industrial or commercial environment.
· Strong understanding of electrical theory, control systems, and automation principles.
· Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and control system malfunctions.
· Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation - Studio 5000, RSLogix 500/5000; Siemens - TIA Portal; Omron) is highly desirable.
· Familiarity with HMI development and configuration.
· Knowledge of VFDs and motor control.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Ability to work in various environments, including industrial plants, construction sites, and commercial buildings.
· Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required by project demands.

· Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems and components, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and various sensors and actuators.
· Perform electrical installations, upgrades, and modifications in industrial and commercial settings, adhering to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and all relevant safety regulations.
· Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
· Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
· Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and control system issues efficiently and effectively.
· Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Omron) and HMIs.
· Perform panel building and wiring according to specifications.
· Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to ensure successful project completion.
· Provide technical support and training to clients as needed.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time spent, materials used, and problem resolutions.
· Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
