Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) – M1 or M2
Prairie Helicopters Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to join our team. Reporting to the Production Manager, AMEs are responsible for inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft. Work will take place both on-site and in the field.
Our main hangar is located in Gimli, Manitoba, with additional bases throughout the province, including Hudson Bay Helicopters in Churchill, MB. We provide professional charter helicopter services across Manitoba, along with work in the arctic and neighbouring provinces. Our fleet includes Bell 206B, 206L, 407, 427 and 212.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Transport Canada AME License (M1 or M2 rating).
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel on short notice.
  • Ability to lift/carry tools and equipment, operate hand/air/power tools, and work at heights.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • A satisfactory criminal record check is required.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, adjust, and repair aircraft systems (structural, mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electrical) in accordance with regulatory standards and maintenance manuals.
  • Perform and document scheduled and emergency maintenance.
  • Dismantle, repair, overhaul, clean, and reassemble airframes, engines, and components.
  • Install and modify aircraft engines, fuel, and electrical systems.
  • Accurately complete logbooks, work orders, and associated records.
  • Plan and perform scheduled maintenance per maintenance forecasts.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and provide mentorship to apprentices.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety regulations.
  • Travel to remote locations as required to maintain aircraft in the field.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
