Location: Halifax, NS

Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Licensed Automotive Technician to join a busy and well-established automotive service center in the Halifax area. This high-volume facility prides itself on professionalism, efficiency, and a collaborative shop culture focused on continuous growth and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Deliver exceptional service by keeping the customer and their vehicle’s needs top of mind.
  • Clearly explain repair procedures and additional work recommendations to build trust and long-term relationships.
  • Maintain open communication with service advisors and shop staff to ensure smooth workflow and accurate timelines.
  • Provide detailed estimates and written reports for all completed work.
  • Uphold industry standards for quality, safety, and flat-rate efficiency.
  • Report any safety concerns related to vehicle condition to the service team and vehicle owner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and protect vehicle interiors during service.
  • Engage with customers in a professional and respectful manner.

Technical & Shop Operations

  • Perform accurate inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of domestic and import vehicles.
  • Guide and monitor apprentices when required, sharing knowledge and ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Estimate labor and parts requirements for repair jobs and consult with the service advisor team.
  • Road test vehicles in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Maintain personal and shop tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Attend training sessions and participate in shop meetings as required.
  • Adhere to all company and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid Red Seal Certification (Interprovincial).
  • CFC Handling Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
  • Solid understanding of modern automotive technology and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with computerized shop systems; knowledge of CoStar is an asset.
  • Prior experience in a similar shop environment is preferred.
