LICENSED BEHAVIOR ANALYST (LBA) – JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary: The LBA is responsible for providing high-quality clinical oversight and support for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The LBA will supervise a team of Senior Therapists and Behavior Therapists, ensuring the implementation of effective Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), progress tracking, and treatment adjustments based on data analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensure: Must be an active Licensed Behavior Analyst through the Minnesota Board of Psychology.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing behavior analysis services, with a focus on children with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Leadership: Proven experience supervising and mentoring behavior therapists or similar staff.
  • Skills:
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of EIDBI program regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
  • Ability to collaborate with families, colleagues, and interdisciplinary teams to provide well-rounded treatment.
Responsibilities
  • Supervision & Leadership:
  • Supervise a caseload of 6-12 children with autism, ensuring individualized treatment plans are implemented and progress is tracked.
  • Provide direct oversight for 2-3 Senior Therapists and 6-12 Behavior Therapists through Observation and Direction and Individual Treatment Plan Development, ensuring consistency and high-quality care in the application of behavior analysis principles.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, providing ongoing mentorship and professional development to direct staff for 10-20% of their clinically worked hours.
  • Clinical Oversight & Progress Monitoring:
  • Analyze client progress through data collection, assessment, and regular review of treatment plans to ensure goals are being met.
  • Develop and implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to address client needs.
  • Provide oversight to ensure that all treatment goals are met effectively, adjusting plans as necessary based on data and client feedback.
  • Treatment Plan Development & Review:
  • Oversee the development of Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) for clients, ensuring they are evidence-based, comprehensive, and tailored to each child’s specific needs.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of treatment plans in collaboration with the Senior Therapists and other team members to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance on modifying interventions and strategies to meet the evolving needs of clients.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Provide oversight in contact with families, ensuring that caregivers are regularly updated on their child’s progress and receive support and guidance as needed through Family/Caregiver Training and Coordinated Care Conferences.
  • Provide oversight with collaboration with other professionals (e.g., Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, etc.) to ensure comprehensive treatment and a coordinated approach to client care.
