Responsibilities All equipment functions properly and safely to support effective delivery of services and care Repair and maintain equipment in all areas of buildings. Building systems, structures and fixtures are maintained in a usable, attractive state and provide for the comfort of customers. Operate, maintain and repair physical plant systems and buildings. Demonstrate knowledge of physical plant systems. Move furniture and equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering areas. Fire safety and other life safety systems are fully maintained and properly tested, providing for the safety of all individuals entering hospital buildings. Maintain and test fire and life safety systems. Conduct fire drills. Demonstrate knowledge of fire and life safety systems. Work orders and maintenance requests are prioritized and processed to meet the needs of customers. Prioritize and complete work order and maintenance requests. Process appropriate paperwork documentation. Plan and purchase materials for completion of maintenance and work orders. Written and verbal communication is clear and appropriate, fulfilling the needs of the customer/recipient and enabling them to make decisions or take actions. Establish open and appropriate communication with customers, co-workers and supervisors. Report any unsafe conditions found in work area to the appropriate supervisor. Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. Complete records of maintenance and work order completions. Complete parts order, issue purchase order numbers and obtain packing slip/service receipt for all purchases or services. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: Minimum four years work experience at journeyman level with comparable equipment and systems or completion of apprenticeship program. Hospital engineering experience preferred. Licensure Current valid applicable state driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements. Oregon Limited Building Maintenance Electrician (LBME) license, ASSE 6040.
