Job Description The Licensed Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role ensures all electrical operations comply with safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable local and international electrical codes to support continuous, compliant, and efficient production. Key Responsibilities Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, panels, and equipment in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Troubleshoot electrical issues affecting production equipment, HVAC systems, cleanrooms, utilities, and automation systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in compliance with GMP, SOPs, and safety standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, PLC diagrams, and technical manuals. Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for new equipment and systems. Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and pharmaceutical industry requirements. Document all maintenance activities accurately in maintenance management systems (CMMS). Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and validation teams to ensure minimal downtime. Identify and recommend improvements to enhance electrical system reliability and energy efficiency. Respond to emergency electrical issues and provide on-call support as required. Maintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with safety and contamination control procedures. Qualifications Valid Electrician License (Journeyman or Master level, as applicable). Technical degree, vocational training, or apprenticeship in Electrical Technology or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an industrial setting; pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device experience preferred. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, power distribution, and control panels. Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and regulated manufacturing environments. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics. Proficiency using electrical testing and diagnostic tools. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
