Description About Us The Speech and Language Center is a growing, multidisciplinary therapy clinic in Harrisonburg, VA. We currently provide Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and ABA services, and we are excited to be expanding our programs to include mental health counseling. Our team is passionate about providing collaborative, family-centered care that helps children reach their fullest potential. We are seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is excited about the opportunity to help launch and grow a new mental health counseling program within our clinic. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated clinician who enjoys building programs, working closely with a team, and making a lasting impact in the community. Position Summary The Mental Health Counselor will provide counseling services to children and adolescents while working collaboratively with our Speech, Occupational Therapy, and ABA teams. The ideal candidate has experience in pediatrics and is enthusiastic about helping develop a new service line from the ground up. Responsibilities Provide individual and family counseling for pediatric clients Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and complete clinical documentation Collaborate with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and ABA providers to support whole-child care Communicate with parents, caregivers, and referral sources Assist with the development and growth of the mental health counseling program Maintain compliance with all ethical, legal, and professional standards Qualifications Active Virginia license as LPC or LCSW (required) Minimum 2 years of pediatric counseling experience (required) Experience working with children with developmental, behavioral, or communication challenges preferred Strong collaboration and communication skills Interest in program development and helping launch new services Ability to work independently while also being part of a team Why Join The Speech and Language Center?
