JOB SUMMARY:

Under indirect supervision, assists the Registered Physical Therapist in the execution of patient treatment care as established by the Registered Physical Therapist. Assists with the training of Physical Therapy Assistant Students, Physical Therapy Aides and other health care professionals.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Upholds Kaiser Permanentes Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws. 1. Interprets and administers patient treatment care as established by the Registered Physical Therapist; performs and instructs patients in routine and complex therapy exercises. 2. Administers physical therapy treatment program to patients with a variety of medical disabilities. 3. Observes patients treatment care, complies and evaluates responses to treatment , documents treatment plan according to standard procedures; adjust patient treatment program as conditions warrant, within guideline limitations. 4. Assists with the training of Physical Therapy Assistant Students, Physical Therapy Aides and other health care professionals; may assist Registered Physical Therapist with in-service training programs and patient care classes as required. 5. Ensures cleanliness of assigned areas and proper functioning of patient care equipment by visual inspection, routine testing of prescribed procedures to provide a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and staff; reports any problems to Registered Physical Therapists. 6. Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations with the public, patients and other personnel. 7. Performs other related duties as required. Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
