Description
Overview Works under the direction of the Director of Therapy Services and/or the Supervisor of Therapy Services. The Licensed Therapist Assistant (LPTA) provides direct patient care, as directed by the evaluating Physical Therapist to all those patients referred for PT at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg Rehabilitation Hospital and The Villages Regional Hospital. The LPTA participates in all team conferences, staff meetings and any other appropriate meetings deemed necessary by the specific unit. The LPTA is able to interact on a professional basis with all Alliance Therapy Team members and is able to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of patients in reference to specific age groups. The LPTA demonstrates competency to care for patients in accordance with discipline specific therapy standards as defined by the Florida Dept. of Health Board of PT. The LPTA provides instruction and assistance to all Alliance Therapy Team members and acts in compliance with the ethical conduct of the organization at all times. Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates patient specific clinical care that is safe, effective and best practice. 2. Documents care provided per departmental standards. 3. Demonstrates compliance with all HCAHPS behaviors to allow patients and families to have an excellent hospital experience. 4. Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame. 5. Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members. 6. Attends Staff Meetings, completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned. 7. Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty. 8. Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members. 9. Completes other duties as requested/assigned. Qualifications Education Associates Degree Licensure/Certification/Registration Florida Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant BLS Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Population Served Adolescents (age 13) through Geriatrics (> 65 years)
